Ingrained in our values, sustainability is a big focus for GYG and how we roll! As early adopters in sustainable packaging, we’ve been on a journey to strive to reach our sustainability goals!
Five years ago we partnered with the amazing BioPak to work on developing a range of packaging that would suit the operational needs of GYG whilst still loving our planet! Since then, we’ve rolled out across all GYG restaurants our sugarcane pulp packaging, which is not only compostable but also a rapid use of renewable resources with a low carbon footprint.
Our unique sugar cane bowls(which we call clams😉) are 100% compostable, minimising the amount of landfill we produce, and if you didn’t know they can be re-used as planting pots to grow all your favourite herbs and veggies! Made from FSC certified wood and paper, this certification promotes the responsible management of the world’s forest, aimed to prevent illegal deforestation and protects the most ancient and endangered forests.
If you haven’t caught on already, all GYG restaurants only stock recyclable bottles, meaning you can refresh your thirst without hurting the environment.
We’ve made sure that when enjoying a Burrito or Bowl from your local GYG you are bettering the environment! From our compostable cutlery and packaging to our biodegradable and recyclable take-away bags, we’ve kept sustainability as a big focus at GYG and continue to work on developing new options!
