If there is one day of the year we truly celebrate at GYG, it’s November 2nd, Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos).
Originating in Mexico, Day of the Dead is a holiday where family and friends come together to remember loved ones who’ve passed away. In Mexican culture this day is all about celebrating the memory of their loved ones, rather than a day of sombreness.
Although this is a Mexican tradition, it’s encouraged for everyone to get involved and celebrate with their family and friends! Whether you set up an Altar or Ofrenda, decorate with vibrant decorations, have a fiesta or share your favourite memories over the love of food, this is a day for everyone to celebrate the lives of those who have passed.
For GYG, this day is all about embracing Mexican culture and celebrating with our amazing crew in restaurant! It’s an opportunity for us to share with our customers this wonderful tradition, get involved with all the crew in restaurants and most importantly celebrate!
