The Day of the Dead, known as ‘Día de los Muertos’ in Spanish, is one of the most vibrant and captivating celebrations in Mexican culture. This ancient tradition happens each year around the 2nd of November. Families honour the memories of departed loved ones by inviting them back for a joyful reunion with the living. It’s an opportunity for family and friends to gather together, share stories, and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
This year you’ll see the faces of our amazing crew as part of the celebration. They are the centre of GYG’s Day of the Dead experience because it’s a space for them to connect with Mexican traditions and to engage in such an emblematic and human celebration. When you walk into a GYG restaurant you will see painted faces and decorations including an interactive altar with the images of loved ones who have passed. The altar has a QR code that gives an amazing explanation of the Day of the Dead celebration.
It’s a special day at GYG and our crew go all out to celebrate this unique cultural event. We’d like to invite you to join us in-restaurant to find out what makes this day so special!
So, head into your local GYG restaurant and celebrate Day of the Dead with us!
